TALKING HEADS

TALKING HEADS Threesome

Talking Heads is hilarious and touching, a great combination.

Rick Hole at Franklin Park Conservatory

I absolutely loved this! I was so entertained! You were so believable & I forgot it was a play!

Janis Coffey at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary

Awesome!

Kim Tolliver at the First Unitarian Universalist Church (Clintonville)

Excellent! All 3 monologues were beautifully executed – we’d love to see more –

Ann Swearingen at the Abbey Theater of Dublin

loved this play! It was so wonderful to have it so close by and usually these aren’t so accessible and affordable for older people. The actors were so believable–such an intimate, small setting–you forgot they were acting.  Thank you.

Teri Gerbig at the Upper Arlington Public Library

I loved the production! Thank you for bringing such good, quality theatre to Columbus…

Lisa McDonnell at the BalletMet Performance Space

So much talent on that tiny stage. The accents were great, the facial expressions, the movement, etc. were just captivating.

I love to see plays/movies written for “women of a certain age” and [playwright Alan] Bennett delivered. It’s hard to find quality plays/movies that focus so well on women over 30 (let alone 50), and this was touching, funny, sad, heart-tugging, and thought-provoking.

I love the intimate atmosphere that APT affords. I know you’d have liked a larger crowd tonight, but you had a wonderful audience and I felt as though I were part of something truly special.

Bringing the theatre to the people is just so Shakespearean. LOVE it! A traveling troup of talented actors with scant scenery and simple costuming is refreshing.

I look forward with great eagerness to your next show and would love to again volunteer to usher. If you don’t need ushers, then I’ll pay to see your plays.

Valerie Acton at the King Avenue United Methodist Church

I really enjoyed the monologues.  Each one was better than the last.

Gerry Huggins at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary

I really enjoyed the experience. I liked the closeness of the actors  They did a superb job!

Marilyn Larkin at the U.A. Public Library

Well done! Actors really made the most of their performance & the sparse sets! Our imaginations were quite engaged. A transformative experience – thanks very much!

Anonymous at the Abbey Theater of Dublin

Fun, festive – thought-provoking.

Anna Lyon at Franklin Park Conservatory

A fine production of a remarkable script – or set of scripts. Alan Bennett is a favorite of mine and these are good examples of his talent and insight into human nature.  I know all of these women.

Tommy Burkett at the BalletMet Performance Space

Who knew so much emotion could be packed into one person on a small stage… fabulous!

Kristin Watt at Franklin Park Conservatory

Kerry at FPC

The staging is sparse with only a handful of props and set pieces on a bare stage. The emphasis is on the words. The nuances of tone, attitude, body language and facial expression are what carry the action forward. I found this story telling to be an appealing and pleasant evening of theater. APT’s mission is to put shows together that can be done simply in almost any type of space, which makes it easy to take the shows anywhere. I like it. And I highly recommend it.

Betty Peters at the BalletMet Performance Space

“funny, touching and just wonderful”

Kathleen Jones at the U.A. Public Library

Superb acting! These actors stand on their talent – no staging, no lights, no music – simply acting at it’s best. All three held us enthralled in their story and we happily went along with them. Wonderfully entertaining evening. Thank you!

Roberta Gerlach at the First Unitarian Universalist Church (Clintonville)

Al Minor at Franklin Park Conservatory

Truly enjoyed the plays.

Laura Zakin at the U.A. Public Library

Rita Rice at the First Unitarian Universalist Church (Clintonville)

Appealing selection of plays… Outstanding performances by experienced professional actors. No sets, minimal props draw full attention to the characters being portrayed.

TALKING HEADS Talk Back

Excellent script! Excellent delivery! I very much enjoy the casual presentation and the simplicity of the “stage.” Thankfully, the presentation [was] well-attended.

Anonymous at the First Unitarian Universalist Church (Clintonville)

I like the location of the play… convenient and easy to get to. My first time at a “local play” and opened my eyes to hopefully attend many more.

Alan Woods at the Abbey Theater of Dublin

Katherine Burkman at Franklin Park Conservatory

Great performances

Anonymous at the U.A. Public Library

This is not the first time that we had the pleasure to be in the audience at one of APT’s wonderful shows and [Talking Heads] was not an exception. It was a privilege to watch professional actors connecting with the audience after, what had to be, a great effort of memorizing the plays and speaking with a British accent.
We thank all the professional actors and the director for making efforts to make great plays available and affordable in this area.

Ivan & Marianne Mueller at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary

FUUC 10-20
